Planning a wedding comes with a million moving pieces, but your photography shouldn’t feel like one of them. From timeline guidance to location scouting and gentle direction during portraits, I’m here to make the experience feel effortless. I know what it's like to feel unsure of yourself or awkward. That is why I have built my entire approach around helping you feel at ease and like yourselves on your wedding day. My own journey with anxiety and learning to embrace vulnerability has shaped the way I show up for my couples. I have seen now powerful it is when you feel safe to be yourself, and I'm here to help create that space for you!

The consultation
We’ll hop on a call and chat about your wedding day, your vision, and what matters most to you. It’s a chance to get to know each other, go over any questions you have, and make sure you feel completely confident moving forward. I’ll also walk you through what working together looks like so there are no surprises.

timeline planning
Once you’re booked, I’ll help you put together a wedding day timeline that flows smoothly and gives you the best lighting for photos. We’ll plan for the important moments, build in breathing room, and make sure your day doesn’t feel rushed. You’ll have guidance every step of the way so you can relax and enjoy it.

your wedding day
On the wedding day, you focus on being present and soaking it all in. I’ll be there capturing the big moments, the quiet ones, and everything in between. I’ll guide you when you need it, but I’m also always watching for the candid, emotional moments that happen naturally throughout the day.

gallery delivery
After your wedding your full online gallery of beautifully edited images will then be delivered within 8-10 weeks. From the getting ready moments to the dance floor chaos, it’ll all be there. You’ll be able to download, share, and relive your wedding day for years to come.

Your wedding photos are one of the only things that grow more valuable with time. Long after the day is over, they’re what bring you right back to how it all felt. I take on a limited number of weddings each year so every couple receives a thoughtful, personalized experience and a gallery that’s carefully curated with intention.

FAQ
how far in advance do we need to book?
I recommend booking at least 12 months in advance to guarantee your date, especially for popular summer and fall weekends. That said, if you’re reading this and your wedding is only 6 months away, don’t panic! Send in an inquiry through my contact form as soon as possible and I’ll let you know if your date is still available.
you're a bit outside of our budget, can we get your look for less?
Yes! If my personal wedding coverage is a bit outside of your budget, I do offer the option to book one of my talented associate photographers at a more affordable rate.
Your associate photographer will be the one capturing your wedding day on-site, and I’ll still be behind the scenes editing and delivering your final gallery in my signature style (and photographing your engagement session, if you choose to include one). This is a great way to get the Kelsey Lawson Photography look while staying within a more comfortable budget.
do you travel?
100% yes! I’m based between Ottawa and Kingston, but I photograph weddings and elopements worldwide. Montreal, Toronto, Prince Edward County, Alberta, Nova Scotia, and even Iceland are just a few of the places I’ve travelled for love stories.
Fun fact: it’s often more affordable to fly your photographer in than to hire locally, because I only charge for travel and accommodation — no additional service fee. If you’re getting married somewhere breathtaking, I’d love to hear all about it!
Do you offer payment plans?
Yes! All of my regular wedding packages are automatically split into 4 or 5 payments due throughout the months leading up to your wedding. I accept e-transfer and credit card, so if you’re trying to rack up those travel points for the honeymoon… I got you!
How many hours of coverage do we need?
10 hours of coverage is the sweet spot for most traditional weddings. It allows plenty of time for getting ready photos, detail shots, bridesmaids/groomsmen portraits, first looks with mom & dad, travel between locations, the ceremony, family photos, newlywed portraits, dinner and speeches, cake cutting, first dances, and even a bit of the dance floor once it opens.
8 hours can also work well, especially if you’re at an all-inclusive venue or have a tight, well-planned timeline. However, it can start to feel rushed if the day runs behind (which happens more often than people expect).
6 hours or less is best suited for smaller, more intimate weddings (typically under 40 guests), and usually only if you're skipping a few of the more traditional events.
