A Sunset Wedding at Lavender Ridge Farm Ottawa Wedding Photographer
If you’ve been searching for Lavender Ridge Farm wedding photos to get a feel for what this Ottawa-area venue looks like at sunset, you’re in for a treat. Lavender Ridge Farm is one of the dreamiest places to get married near Ottawa, with rows of lavender, rolling fields, and the kind of golden light that makes every photo look like it’s straight out of a movie. From heartfelt vows to golden hour portraits surrounded by soft purple blooms, this day captured everything I love about summer weddings at Lavender Ridge Farm.
Getting Ready at Home
Talulah started her wedding morning at her childhood home. The place where so many of her favourite memories live. She spent the morning writing her vows on the front porch, her dogs close by as she took in the quiet before all the excitement began. Inside, laughter filled the air as her bridesmaids helped her get ready, the house buzzing with joy and anticipation.
Once she was dressed, we moved into the sweetest series of first looks. First with her bridesmaids (HIGHLY recommend), then her dad (cue all the tears), and finally with her now husband, Austin. Their first look took place beneath the most beautiful giant willow tree in her family’s yard; branches swaying softly in the breeze as they saw each other for the first time. It couldn’t have been more perfect.

Bridal Party & Portraits
After their first look, we made the most of the gorgeous property and soft afternoon light. The bridal party brought the energy, lots of laughter, happy tears, and the kind of candid moments that make for the best photos. Everyone looked incredible, and it was such a joy to capture their excitement before the ceremony began.
Then it was time to focus on just the two of them. Talulah and Austin’s couple portraits were nothing short of magic, relaxed, genuine, and full of love. We captured a few quiet moments under that stunning willow tree. These portraits were such a beautiful reflection of their connection. You can feel their joy radiating through their photos.

A Sunset Ceremony at Lavender Ridge Farm
From there, we made our way to Lavender Ridge Farm, where the fields were glowing in the late afternoon sun. Their ceremony took place just as the sun began to dip, painting the sky in soft pinks and golds. The moment they said “I do” felt like something out of a fairytale.
As soon as they were officially married, Chuck Berry’s music filled the air and Talulah and Austin took off running - literally! They hopped into the bed of her dad’s truck while all the kids chased after them with bubbles, laughing and cheering. Her dad drove them off down the lane so they could steal 15 quiet minutes together before rejoining their guests. It was such a sweet, movie-worthy moment.
Golden Hour & The Reception
When they returned, the party had kicked into full swing. Instead of a formal sit-down dinner, they hosted a relaxed cocktail-style reception in the stunning modern barn. It was the perfect vibe for a summer night. Guests mingled, music played, and the light turned that perfect golden hue that photographers dream of.
We snuck away for a few more portraits in front of the glowing fields, and honestly, those might be some of my favourite Lavender Ridge Farm wedding photos ever. Between the laughter, the warm light, and the endless lavender, it was pure magic from start to finish.
