Katherine & Alec’s Frontenac Club Elopement in Kingston, Ontario


Katherine and Alec chose the Frontenac Club in Kingston, Ontario for their elopement, and it couldn’t have been a more perfect fit. Tucked right in the heart of downtown Kingston, this boutique hotel is one of the city’s most romantic wedding venues, and it gave their day the intimate, elegant feel they wanted.


Their ceremony was held on the Frontenac Club’s back patio with just their parents present. A simple, heartfelt moment that was all about their love. Afterward, we went upstairs to the Cartwright Suite, which has these incredible arched floor-to-ceiling windows and a freestanding tub. The afternoon light was magic, pouring through the windows and creating the dreamiest setting for portraits. At one point, Katherine and Alec hopped right into the tub together, laughing the whole time—those candid, playful moments are always some of my favourites. And when I spotted Katherine’s 1989 sweater in the room, we instantly bonded over our shared love for Taylor Swift (the best kind of wedding-day connection!).

We then wandered through downtown Kingston for wedding photos, which is honestly one of the best backdrops for couples who love a mix of waterfront views and historic architecture. We stopped at the Saint Lawrence waterfront, walked through Confederation Park, and paused at the intersection of Brock St. and King St. E for some cinematic black and white photos with Kingston’s limestone buildings behind them. Before heading back, we took a few portraits in front of St. George’s Cathedral, another gorgeous Kingston landmark that added so much character to their gallery.


The evening wrapped up back at the Frontenac Club, where Katherine and Alec toasted the day with two dirty martinis from the bar. Simple, romantic, and so very them.


For couples dreaming of a small wedding, this is the perfect example of how a Kingston elopement can feel both intimate and unforgettable. Between the charm of the Frontenac Club and the endless photo opportunities in downtown Kingston, Katherine and Alec’s day showed exactly why this city is one of my favourite places to photograph love stories.
