A Family Session at St. Lawrence Park – Brockville

Overcast skies have a magic of their own—soft, even light, moody tones, and a calm atmosphere that makes everything feel just a little cozier. That’s exactly what we had for this beautiful family session at St. Lawrence Park in Brockville.

I met up with Jass, Sam, and their sweet little boy down by the river to start things off. The soft, cloudy light gave the water a silvery glow, and the peacefulness of the park set the perfect tone for the session. These three were so natural together—it was easy to capture those little in-between moments: a shared laugh, gentle hugs, and their son’s playful curiosity.

After exploring the riverside, we moved into the trees and green space in the park. The overcast sky gave us the most beautiful, diffused light through the leaves—perfect for intimate family portraits. The lush greenery made a great contrast against the soft tones of the day, and the quiet setting helped everyone relax and just enjoy the moment.

Later on, Jass and Sam’s extended family joined us, and we took some lovely group portraits together. It’s always such a joy to photograph bigger families—seeing the connections, the generations, and how everyone comes together. Whether it was siblings catching up or grandparents holding their grandkids close, every moment felt genuine and full of love.

Even without sunshine, this session was glowing in all the right ways—through connection, laughter, and the little moments that mean the most.
