A Sweet Surpirse at Mac Johnson Wildlife Area
Chantal and Kyle’s session was one of those shoots that just leaves you smiling the whole way home. They had never had professional photos taken before and were a little nervous at first, but you’d never know it once we got going. What started as a simple session to update their profile pictures quickly turned into something so much more special—a pregnancy announcement!
We began with a few easy prompts to help them shake off the nerves, and soon enough they were laughing, joking, and totally in the moment. It’s always such a joy to watch a couple go from feeling a little unsure to completely embracing the experience. There’s something really magical about seeing people connect and have fun just being themselves in front of the camera.
Midway through the session, Chantal surprised me with a sonogram photo—they’re expecting their first baby! My heart could barely handle the sweetness. We captured a few beautiful moments featuring the sonogram, keeping things natural and full of love. Whether it was Kyle proudly holding the photo or Chantal cradling it gently with that mama-to-be glow, you could feel how special this moment was for them.
By the end of the shoot, Chantal and Kyle were laughing like old pros, totally relaxed and just soaking up the moment together. It was such a privilege to document this chapter of their story—from nervous first-timers to joyful parents-to-be, all in one session. I'm so grateful they trusted me to capture this memory, and I can’t wait to see what the next chapter brings for their little family.
