Your Iceland Elopement

For couples who want to remember how it felt, somewhere unforgettable.

There’s something about Iceland that makes an elopement feel like a true adventure. Black sand beaches, towering waterfalls, windswept cliffs and landscapes that seem to stretch forever. Whether you’re planning an intimate ceremony along Iceland’s South Coast or spending the day exploring together, your wedding can be completely your own.

As an Iceland elopement photographer, I document your day with a mix of candid storytelling and effortless editorial portraits, capturing not just where you went, but what it felt like to be there.

Your Iceland Elopement Photographer

Hi, I’m Kelsey! I’m a Canadian wedding and elopement photographer with a love for travel, wild landscapes and wedding days that don’t necessarily follow the traditional rulebook.

My approach blends documentary photography with relaxed, editorial portraiture. I’ll give you direction when you need it, then step back when you don’t, leaving plenty of room for the spontaneous, imperfect and emotional moments that make the day yours.

Having photographed couples throughout Southern Iceland, I also know just how quickly the weather and landscape can change here. A little wind, rain or fog isn’t something I’m afraid of. More often than not, it becomes part of what makes your photographs feel like Iceland.

Stunning locations

Vik

The tiny village of Vík makes an incredible home base for a Southern Iceland elopement. Surrounded by mountains, dramatic coastline and some of the South Coast’s most recognizable landscapes, you can experience an incredible amount of Iceland without spending your entire wedding day in the car.

Black Sand Beaches

Iceland’s black sand beaches are every bit as dramatic in person as they look in photographs. The contrast of volcanic sand, crashing North Atlantic waves and towering cliffs creates an almost otherworldly backdrop for an elopement.

Waterfalls

From the enormous curtain of water at Skógafoss to the experience of walking behind Seljalandsfoss, waterfalls bring movement, scale and a little bit of chaos to your photographs in the best possible way. There are also countless smaller falls tucked throughout the South Coast that can give us a quieter experience away from the most popular stops.

Planning tips & FAQ

What's Included?

My Iceland elopement photography includes full-day photography coverage, location scouting and personalized recommendations based on the landscapes and experience you’re looking for. I can also connect you with trusted local vendors to help bring everything together.

From finding the perfect ceremony location to chasing waterfalls and exploring the South Coast, I’ll help you create a day with plenty of room to slow down, explore and actually experience Iceland together.

Do we need a permit for photography?

All local permits and licenses are included in your photography package and taken care of on my end. One less thing you need to think about.

When is the best time of year to elope in Iceland?

There really isn’t a bad time to elope in Iceland, it just depends on the experience you want. Summer brings incredibly long days, greener landscapes and more flexibility for exploring, while fall and winter offer moodier scenery, fewer daylight hours and the possibility of seeing the Northern Lights. We can talk through what you’re envisioning and choose a time of year that makes the most sense for your day.

Do we need to know where we want to elope before booking?

Not at all! You can book your Iceland elopement photographer before you have a ceremony location picked out. Location scouting and recommendations are part of the experience, so we can find somewhere that fits what you’re drawn to, whether that’s a black sand beach, waterfall, mountain landscape or somewhere a little more secluded along Iceland’s South Coast.
